People who are unhoused want to work.
People who are unhoused want to work.
But they may not meet basic job requirements without:
> an address and phone number
> photo identification
> the ability to work every day
> clean work clothes
> special training or job skills
> reliable transportation
Dignified Workday gives them a chance.
Dignified Workday gives them a chance.
We provide the opportunity to do real work, earn an income, build stability, and even qualify for housing.

“Dignified Workday gave me money in my pocket, a chance to feel better about myself, and the opportunity to have the apartment I live in today.”

Here’s how it happens.
We hire the workers.
Our staff train, supervise, and pay them to provide services for local businesses and organizations. They receive a fair wage, support and respect, and real job responsibilities.

Businesses hire us.
Our crews do everything from demolition and clean-up to painting and landscaping. They take deep pride and ownership in their work and make sure every project is done right.

It’s a win for everyone.
The workers earn an income, businesses get valuable services, and our city becomes a better place to live.

“Decent work supports good mental health by providing: a livelihood; a sense of confidence, purpose, and achievement; an opportunity for positive relationships and inclusion in a community; and a platform for structured routines, among many other benefits.”

Dignified Workday takes a new approach.
We do construction and maintenance work.
It’s what our on-site supervisors have been doing for years. We’re a licensed general contractor, we offer affordable rates for our services, and our crews are known for outproducing others.
We partner with a workforce organization.
Our program is administered by Career Path Services, an employment and human services organization based in Spokane for over 50 years. Each year, Career Path Services helps thousands of job seekers across Washington State.
Our goal is to be a self-sustaining program.
Today, most of our costs are offset by what we charge for our labor, but we still rely on private donations to cover the costs of benefits and support for our workers, including work clothes and daily lunches.

“We’re providing a service that’s needed, and we’re offering it at a good price. Our crews do an excellent job, and the people we’re working for are continually astonished at what our workers produce.”
